My research interest lies in the characterization of different cancer sub-types on the basis of their genomic profiles. This will help us in understanding the molecular basis of cancer more effectively and thus, it will further assist in treating the patients more efficiently. In recent years, our understanding of cancer increased tremendously and a series of biomarkers have been developed to assist personalized treatment of cancer. Unfortunately, still more than 60% of cancer patients don’t have any known biomarker or signature that may help us in treating them more effectively. This is one of the major reasons that we are still unable to achieve the goal of increasing overall survival rate in cancer patients significantly.
