- Shall possess an M.Sc. degree or its equivalent in the relevant discipline.
- Shall have obtained first division in M.Sc. or B.Sc.
- Shall not have obtained third division B.Sc. or M.Sc.
- In case of a third division in F.Sc. the candidate should have obtained first division in both B.Sc. and M.Sc.
- Any of the conditions (second)-(fourth) above may be relaxed by the Vice-Chancellor in case of a teacher of a university/college and an employee of a research organization.
- M.Sc. degree or its equivalent in any field of Biological Sciences. BS (Hons) 4 years degree holders in Bioinformatics are also eligible
