National Centre for Bioinformatcis(NCB) is organized a lecture series on  " Next Generation Sequencing: Application and Procedures" The Lectures  delivered by Dr. Khurram Maqbool Assistant Professor.

One-Day Workshop on “Advances in Bioinformatics in the Post Genomic Era” organized by National center for Bioinformatics (NCB) Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad started on 6^th November 2014.

Parties are organized to say goodbye to the seniors and introducing the juniors with the versatile tradition of NCB. Some of the highlights of the event are depicted in the photographs.

Students of NCB are positively energetic and dynamic. They are not only excelling in their academics but also participate in extra curricular activities. Very recently an excursion trip was organized. It was a wonderful experience. Exploring KHEWRA SALT MINES and its outskirts in a very friendly environment and helped the students to socialize with their fellows and teachers.

Snapshots of lecture on “Virtual Screening and it’s Application”

National Center for Bioinformatics, Quaid-I-Azam University, has participated in one day symposium with the title “National Symposium on Computational Biology in Pakistan Current Status and Future Challenges” organized by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad on November 8, 2012. Assistant Prof. Dr.Sajid Rashid (Incharge of NCB) and Assistant Prof Dr. Syed S. Azam on behalf of NCB presented the vision of NCB at this symposium.

In this seminar a poster competition was also organized. Different Ph.D, M.phil and M.S scholars from distinguished research institutes presented their research work in this contest. Scholars from NCB also participated and have won all three places in this competition.

1^st position is won by Zahida Parveen ,Ph.D (Bioinformatics) Scholar,

2^nd by Asma Abro Ph.D (Bioinformatics) Scholar, and

3^rd by Ayman Sarosh  M.phil (Bioinformatics) Scholar.
